ON THE TRAIL week six 16 characters remaining. It's July, 1842, and the trail ahead stretches as far as you can see. Your destination still seems like an even farther off dream with as slowly as the wagons go, but at least you have good company... Right? You're traveling through Nebraska this week, and it seems like it will be a bumpy ride. WEATHER Sunday: Rain Monday: Pleasant Tuesday: Hot Wednesday: Hot Thursday: Afternoon Thunderstorms Friday: Dust Storm Saturday: Pleasant This week, suggested activities include Putting out fires, running from spiders and otherwise avoiding the effects of your costumes. On Monday, there will also be a chance to ford a river. The river is deep, and conditions are fair. On Wednesday, there will be a chance to stop at a ghost town. [Despite the embarrassment of being in this costume, there's still plenty of pros--such as having a good enough height to pick food at.

And in this particular day, a good enough view to find a broken down wagon in the distance and long enough legs to take Akane there promptly. She picks it apart with considerable ease--]

Actual, real people clothes. [and apparently enough for everyone in wagon five.]

[whenever Akane gets the chance to come back to the wagon, Doof will be sulkily sitting on it, still in the platypus costume, making annoyed platypus sounds. ]

[She bites back the urge to snap a "now what?" at the understandably uncomfortable looking wagon mate. That said, she waves a shirt all the same.]

The sooner you come down the quicker you'll get your pick of fresh clothes, doctor.

Doof visibly perks up a bit, staring at Akane cautiously from under the stupid yet terrifying platypus face.

Did she really say clothes?

He'll jump down from the wagon, making inquiring platypus noises.]

[She waves something else she thinkswill look pretty presentable--a pair of pants that don't even have any holes in them! The pants look a bit too tight, though.]

You wouldn't want that other guy to get it first now, right?

I'm actually pretty OK with this.

[Not being stuck as a T. Rex makes his costume much better since it's pretty much just... his usual clothes anyway.]

You guys can divvy up my share if you think you want extra.

I can't believe you're passing on this really nice dress. [She has a sense of humor. Sometimes.]

Yeah, it's real flattering, but I think green or purple's probably more my color. See if you can find something in that.
