week four
week four ![]() It's June, 1842, and the trail ahead stretches as far as you can see. Your destination still seems like an even farther off dream with as slowly as the wagons go, but at least you have good company... Right? You're traveling through Nebraska this week, and it seems like it will be a bumpy ride. WEATHERThis week, suggested activities include Collecting Water, Hunting Bison and Praying. On Tuesday, there will also be a tornado. Good luck and safe travels! graveyard RNG selections are due at 5 PM on October 29th. |
YOU HAVE DIED...

Honestly, even though he didn't know him well, it's impossible to not at least feel bad about someone you've been traveling with for a handful of weeks dying.]
...Jeeze. [Great start, Arthur!] Uh...sorry that it turned out this way.

Canute is dismayed they lost a wagon member, not perhaps for any reason having to do with Virion himself (no offense)... but he's still somber about it. Hm.]
The rest of us will complete this journey well, as he would have. [that's good, right?? that means something.]

If he hadn't gotten sick, we'd be fine. He was the best one when we hunted, I guess.
[Which is as close to a compliment as he's going to come. This is the worst funeral ever.]

Still, when they're on the march, they don't have a lot of time to mourn lost companions. They weren't even all that close, but still, leaving him and this grave by the side of the road just seems sad.]
...Yeah. [It's just a gross mess. A lot of people are dying. Does this place have it out for them???] Let's just make sure it doesn't happen again, and keep going.

...sorry, Virion. We won't forget you.

Work hard for him. That is the best we can do.
[Now come on, back to the wagon.]

It's not your fault, you know.
[Could've been anyone, etc etc etc.]
It really just seems like this trip has it out for us, weird as that sounds.

[ absolutely refusing to use past-tense nope nope ] I hope she just...went back home, yanno? I dunno how the afterlife works in this place.

Mmm. She seemed to like ya too.

Maybe when we stop tonight we can build a big bonfire or something. Seems like something she'd like. [Gi-ne tries to stand up but wobbles and quickly sits down again, looking very pale.] ... We really need to get moving again though.
