YOU HAVE DIED...

[ This week, Virion and Okuu were tragically unable to continue the trip wes. Virion succumbed to cholera, while Okuu was killed during a storm. The wagon train stops to bury the dead and out of respect, manages to make a small tombstone. However, no matter what you try and write, the tombstone will always change its face to read when you're not looking— ]



[ It's a sad occasion, but we can't take too long to mourn. You had best pay your respects now, since it's clear enough that you won't be coming back here... ]

[ah....... well, it's the first loss their wagon has faced, and it definitely doesn't spell good things for the future of the rest of them either, seeing as how Virion died from an illness in a week...

Honestly, even though he didn't know him well, it's impossible to not at least feel bad about someone you've been traveling with for a handful of weeks dying.]

...Jeeze. [Great start, Arthur!] Uh...sorry that it turned out this way.

Canute is dismayed they lost a wagon member, not perhaps for any reason having to do with Virion himself (no offense)... but he's still somber about it. Hm.]

The rest of us will complete this journey well, as he would have. [that's good, right?? that means something.]

[Judar keeps a deliberate distance back from the grave and the others, deliberately tilting his head to shadow his face. You don't get to see any emotions he doesn't want you to, you jerks!!]

If he hadn't gotten sick, we'd be fine. He was the best one when we hunted, I guess.

Still, when they're on the march, they don't have a lot of time to mourn lost companions. They weren't even all that close, but still, leaving him and this grave by the side of the road just seems sad.]

...Yeah. [It's just a gross mess. A lot of people are dying. Does this place have it out for them???] Let's just make sure it doesn't happen again, and keep going.

[Well, that's more than the usual to-do about dead men. Canute lets them all have a moment of silence, but he's definitely the first one to straighten up and look ready to go. He realizes the importance of leadership in times like this, so-]

[Arthur doesn't really have much more to say to Virion--BACK TO THE WAGON IT IS--though he does glance over at Kuranosuke.]

It really just seems like this trip has it out for us, weird as that sounds.

No. But it's not so bad bein' dead in Gensokyo. If you get special permission, or climb the Netherworld's gates, you can go see some of the dead people. If the ghost princess plopped them out of purgatory, that is. [ .... ] Frankly, I dunno if she would help Okuu. Maybe, or maybe not.
